Nation Group joins CNN for Asia's first Global Perspectives in Bangkok

Nation Group is partnering with CNN as the official media partner for the inaugural Asia chapter of Global Perspectives, taking place in Bangkok on October 14, 2026.

In collaboration with four of Nation Group’s media outlets, Bangkok Biz News, Thansettakij, The Nation Thailand and Nation TV, CNN will bring together C-suite executives, business leaders, policymakers and creators from the financial, creative, wellness, tourism sectors, and others.

Conversations will be moderated by CNN journalists from the United States and across Asia, including Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Richard Quest, Kristie Lu Stout, Will Ripley and Hanako Montgomery.

Together, they will lead in-depth discussions on critical issues shaping international business, policy, health, tourism and economic development, as well as Asia’s evolving role on the global stage.

Editorial content and news-making interviews from Global Perspectives will be featured across CNN and Nation Group’s platforms.

The four Nation Group media outlets will also conduct interviews with CNN executives and speakers participating in the event, bringing key insights and perspectives from the programme to audiences in Thailand and the wider expatriate community.

Ahead of Global Perspectives in Bangkok, Ellana Lee, CNN Group Senior Vice President, General Manager APAC and Global Head of Production at CNN International, told The Nation Thailand's Franc Han Shih in an exclusive interview that Bangkok was selected to host the first Asian edition because of Thailand’s role as a regional connector.

“There are a lot of competitors in the region to host the first Asia’s Global Perspectives, but we came to the right decision in choosing Bangkok, as Thailand is a super connector between East Asia and Southeast Asia. Tourism is also expanding in Thailand, as well as health and wellness,” Lee said.

Will Ripley, Senior International Correspondent at CNN International, said the event would provide a platform for insightful conversations on issues shaping the region and the world.

Nation Group will join CNN as media partner for Global Perspectives, making its Asian debut in Bangkok this October, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, business executives and CNN’s leading correspondents and anchors for a day of live discussions focused on economics, health, business and Asia’s evolving role on the world stage.
