Six leading property firms have joined with the Government Pension Fund to launch a promotion campaign for GPF members to boost sales of homes during the rest of the year.
They are Pruksa Real Estate, Sansiri, Supalai, AP (Thailand), Quality Houses and Sena Development.
“This is the next step to open up opportunities for GPF members to buy homes after the fund joined with the commercial banks to offer special interest rates for GPF members,” the fund’s secretary-general Sopawadee Lertmanaschai said.
Since the GPF joined that campaign with the commercial banks 10 years ago, 220,000 members have bought homes.
“We believe that this [new] campaign will help our members to become home-owners. They also can combine this ‘Best Home Best Buy’ campaign with the commercial banks’ campaign to buy a home from now until the end of this year,” she said.
Pruksa Real Estate president
and chief executive Thongma Vijitphongpun said GPF members would get 1.5 per cent off the price of a home in any of its residential projects, of which it has more than 180 nationwide.
“GPF members are low-risk customer because they have stable incomes for the long term and also have more purchasing power than other market segments,” he said, adding that this campaign was part of Pruksa’s effort to boost presales to Bt40 billion by the end of the year.
However, he could not estimate the value of sales from this market segment, as it would depend on the demand.
AP (Thailand) chief marketing officer Vittakarn Chandavimol said his company was offering special discounts of up to Bt100,000 and free transfer fees and home appliances for GPF members who buy its Pleno and Aspire homes. It has 13 projects nationwide.
He added that this campaign was aimed at boosting presales in the second half, a period when the market faces high competition and people delay their decisions to buy homes out of concerns about their future earnings.
“We cannot estimate how many sales we will gain from this campaign, but we believe that our products will match customers’ demand. Our presale target is Bt12 billion for the first nine months of this year and Bt20 billion for the full year,” he said.
Sena Development offers discounts of up to Bt70,000, free transfer fees and free electronic appliances for GPF members who buy under this campaign.
“We believe that GPF members are a low-risk market and have enough purchasing power to buy homes. This is an effort to boost our sales in the second half of this year,” Sena Development director Kessara Thanyalakpark said.
Meanwhile, Quality Houses offers discounts of up to Bt10,000 on every home priced at Bt1 million. Sansiri offers discounts of up to Bt20,000 and free appliances and furniture. Supalai offers discounts of up to Bt20,000 and free transfer fees.
