Dusit International has announced that it will manage its first dusitD2 project in Myanmar.

Slated to open in 2017, dusitD2 Residence Yangon is situated between the city centre and Yangon International Airport. The residence will offer 300 units, a speciality dining outlet, bar, business lounge and recreational facilities including a gym and swimming pool.

Dusit is undertaking the project under an agreement with real-estate developer Myanmar JP Asset Co. The building has been designed by Iida Architect Studio in Japan and the construction management will be handled by Kokusai Land (Vietnam).

Ryan Chen, Dusit International director of hotel business development, said the group’s introduction of the dusitD2 brand in Yangon would be a tremendous addition to its portfolio.

Designed around the concept of “feeling calm Asian winds and enjoying heartfelt hospitality”, the building’s large windows on the ground floor will give residents the feeling of indoor/outdoor living.

The architecture will blend well into the surrounding landscape, while multi-storey vertical sky gardens continue the indoor/outdoor theme.

Masami Hatae, chief executive officer of Myanmar JP Asset Co, said dusitD2 in Yangon would be the first property in the city to combine Asian hospitality and cutting-edge design. The multicultural collaboration among Thai hospitality management brought by Dusit, architects at Iida Studio, Japanese project consulting and construction management by Kosukai Land, and the cooperation of its local Myanmar partners will bring together the very best of Asian innovation and |hospitality.
