BANGKOK-BASED international real-estate developer Country Group Development has partnered with Capella Hotel Group to launch the Capella Bangkok hotel, scheduled to open next year.

The move is in line with Capella’s continued expansion in Asia.
Nicholas Clayton, chief executive officer of Capella Hotel Group Asia, said yesterday that Capella Bangkok was one of three |distinctive new properties it would launch in Asia within the next 15 months.
Capella Shanghai will open late this spring, Capella Ubud in Bali follows in the autumn, and Capella Bangkok will welcome guests in the northern summer of 2018, he said.
Capella Hotel Group, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, offers hospitality-management services globally.
Ben Taechaubol, CEO and director of Country Group Development, Clayton, and senior representatives from both companies marked the Capella Bangkok official launch ceremony yesterday.
“We specifically selected Capella Hotel Group for this project in order to elevate the standard of bespoke luxury available to guests in Bangkok,” Ben said.
Clayton said Asia was still the most dynamic place in the world and the hospitality-management business was generally more successfully financially in this region.
The first Capella hotel in Thailand will have 101 guest suites and river villas with views of the Chao Phraya waterway. Capella Bangkok is an integral part of the luxury residential and hotel development The Chao Phraya Estate, which occupies an expansive 35-2-68 rai (5.6-hectare) site on the east bank of the river.
The Chao Phraya Estate is Country Group Development’s largest project to date, valued at Bt32 billion. Capella Bangkok will stand alongside Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok and Four Seasons Private Residences Bangkok, which are under development in the same estate project.
The Four Seasons residence is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2018 and the hotel in the first quarter of 2019.
