The Energy Ministry’s task force has impounded more than 5.2 million litres of biodiesel from Triple S Petroleum’s depot in Samut Prakan after tests found the fuel failed to meet official standards, with authorities filing a criminal complaint and expanding the investigation into possible links with other oil firms.

Department of Energy Business director-general Sarawut Kaewtathip apologised for disruption after reports of stations running dry, saying Thailand still has at least 101 days of fuel reserves and is working to speed up deliveries and prevent hoarding.
