Bangkok’s 10pm to 4am curfew hours will have to be strictly observed by people living in the Din Daeng flats, Metropolitan Police announced on Friday. This order was issued in a bid to prevent chaos as anti-government protesters continue holding rallies in the area.

A crowd control police was shot in the head during a clash with anti-government protestors in Soi Ton Pho near Din Daeng Flat in Bangkok’s Din Daeng district on night of Wednesday (October 6).

A room at Din Daeng flat burst in flames around midnight on Sunday. No serious injuries were reported, meanwhile, police are suspecting if the cause of the fire was from a gas tank explosion or the protestor’s fire bomb as there have been daily gatherings of the Thalu Gas group in the area.

Bangkok police have warned they will not ease pressure on Thalu Gas protesters when the curfew is lifted, which is likely to be at the end of this month. The warning means nightly clashes at Din Daeng intersection that have disrupted local life for weeks are likely to continue into November.

Residents living in Din Daeng Flats in Bangkok put up two huge banners on Saturday to express their displeasure after they were affected by the police tear gas and rubber bullets fired during the crackdown on pro-democracy protesters.

The bloated body of a man was found Monday inside a Din Daeng, Bangkok flat room where he lived with his adopted mother and mentally retarded sister, police said.
