The Cabinet on Tuesday bumped up the monthly allowance for some 10 million elderly Thai citizens for the next six months.

The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities will ask the Cabinet to increase disability allowance from Bt800 to Bt1,000 per month, said its director-general Saranpat Anumatrajkij on Friday.
