Chatuchak subway market goes online

Tarad.com has joined hands with Bangkok Metro Networks to provide an M-commerce platform for mobile shoppers.

“The new mobile platform will make it easier for mobile users to enrich their lifestyles since now mobile users are changing their behaviour,” Pawoot Pongvitayapanu, managing director of Tarad.com, said yesterday.
“They spend money to purchase products and services via mobile phones, which proves that mobile commerce is emerging and has potential for growth in the Thai market,” he said.
Tarad m-commerce version 3.0, a mobile commerce platform, will promote the products of more than 50 shops in the subway’s Chatuchak retail centre.
Shoppers can use their mobile phone to read a QR code and receive information on a shop.
The new service can also be accessed via www.mrttarad.com, where products can be purchased via the website and picked up at the shop or delivered to the buyer’s home.
Tarad.com has 1.3 million members and 30 per cent of total access via mobile phone and tablet devices. Mobile commerce traffic has increased 183 per cent.
Mobile commerce makes up 11.1 per cent of its revenue, while mobile growth is 60.6 per cent.
