SET announced that it has experienced unprecedented data growth in recent years so it will use Simpana software to manage back-up, recovery, searching and archiving of data.
It said the CommVautl software will guarantee the effective management of new, virtualised business support applications, and more effective management of growing unstructured data content for compliance and business analysis purposes.
After a comprehensive vendor selection process, including multiple demonstrations, and proof of concept illustrations, CommVault was selected based on the ability to deliver innovation in the data archiving mechanism that was fully compatible with virtualized and cloud infrastructures, and more effective at backing-up VMware environments, according to Thirapun Sanpakit, Senior Vice President, Group Head, IT Operations at the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
The software allows management of all of this capability to be consolidated into a single console, user interface for both backup and archived data, reducing response time to business requests.
In addition the content indexed search functionality of the backed-up files, whether on tape, disk or cloud located storage allowed the IT Operations Group to reduce required disk space, reduce networking costs, and improve compliance management.
“The Stock Exchange of Thailand is a pivotal bourse, not only in ASEAN but also globally, and our goal is to constantly upgrade our service to clients,” Thirapun said.
“The inclusion of CommVault’s Simpana software as part of our IT infrastructure enables the organisation to do this, enhancing the performance of the stock exchange operations and ensuring that data storage compliance regulations are met.
“Simpana also ensures that the Stock Exchange of Thailand maximizes opportunities for our clients and partners, enabling the utilization of raw data, such as trading transactions and analysis of price feeds, to provide insights in terms of investment behaviour and surveillance – supporting the Stock Exchange of Thailand’s wider business strategy.”
