Finland's Nokian tyres have arrived in Thailand for the first time, with eight models being offered by official distributor J9 Progress.

Managing director Pornchai Khruayatdee says one of the highlights of Nokian tyres is an aquaplaning/DSI indicator that helps remind users when the tyres need to be replaced.
The Nokian product line-up for Thailand includes tyres for passenger cars, (50 per cent), SUV/4x4 trucks (40 per cent) and vans/pickup trucks (10 per cent). Other special features include an information grid that informs users of the tyre position and recommended pressure, as well as use of environmentally friendly materials such as purified and low aromatic oils that helps reduce cancer-causing particles.
“We have a total of 250 retailers and the number is expected to increase to 300 next year,” Pornchai said. The company plans to grow in the “replacement market” in the next two years, he added.
