The partners say their union is founded on mutual interest to improve the healthcare industry as socially-responsible corporate citizens.
Samitivej’s managing director and CEO, Dr Chairat Panthuraamphorn said Samitivej was emerging as a regional leader in healthcare.
“The collaboration with Sony will strongly position us to offer innovative services, given our advanced IT infrastructure, medical excellence, full team of experts and readiness to provide services to both Thai and foreign customers.
“These are the key factors that will enable us to bring the future of healthcare solutions to life. We believe these advances in healthcare technology will improve patient care and service delivery, plus greater confidence and peace of mind for patients’ health concerns, he said.
“At the same time, this collaboration will enable us to serve more people in remote areas where healthcare is out of reach – and that is what our mission is all about,” said Dr Chairat.
Motomi Saito, Professional Solutions Company (PSAP) Division’s managing director, said the partnership was the first agreement Sony has had with a hospital in the Asean region. It is confident such collaborations will bring greater innovation and efficiency to medical services in Thailand and the Asean region.
Under the agreement, Sony will lease pilot medical systems to Samitivej for evaluation, such as its content management system (CMS) in the medical field and Telehealth camera system in the medical field.
Sony will also provide Samitivej with regular updates on its medical products and solutions, and share reference installations and case studies.
To enhance the efficiency of Samitivej’s hospital operations, Sony will supply equipment from its range of professional audio and video solutions, video-conferencing systems and surveillance devices. Sony’s range of consumer products will also be used to improve the general amenities of Samitivej’s hospitals, including the use of BRAVIA televisions within hospital rooms and as digital signage.
Meanwhile, Samitivej will establish Sony as the preferred vendor of medical equipment and solutions for Samitivej’s facilities. It will provide opportunities to evaluate and refine pilot projects under Sony’s medical solutions, and provide Sony with opportunities to utilise Samitivej’s facilities as reference sites.
“Our ambition is to develop continuous, full coverage medical services by employing the latest medical innovations, resulting in safer and more precise treatment and care. Our patients can then have the utmost confidence in choosing Samitivej as their trusted hospital,” said Dr Chairat.
