
The company said in a press release that it offers “a more intelligent, convenient and greener transportation solution in more than 10 countries”.
Its bicycles utilise a mobile app, “smart locks” and renewable solar-pack chargers to ensure a network of easily accessible bikes at all times.
The countries involved include Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Australia.
Users need to download the oBike mobile app, register with a phone number and make a one-time refundable deposit of Bt899.
They will then be free to use the bicycles by scanning the bike’s QR code using the app on their phone.
Once they’re done with the bike, they park it at any designated lot, manually lock it, and the app will immediately stop charging.
In Thailand, the price of an oBike ride is Bt10 per 15 minutes.
