A Taiwanese national suspected of involvement in the murder of his compatriot and leaving the body in an abandoned building near Suvarnabhumi Airport has been released on bail of NT$300,000 (340,000 baht) and is prohibited from leaving the country.

On February 29, Taiwanese media reported that Taiwanese authorities had detained Zhou Yu Fai, 25, upon his return to Taiwan from Cambodia. He was part of a group of four Taiwanese, of whom one was killed.

He was detained for questioning at the police station, where Zhou Yu Fai reportedly confessed to the Taiwanese police that before the incident, the man he blamed for the murder was seen discussing some issues with the victim, Shih Mou Chiang.

Zhou claimed that he was unaware of the dispute between the two but realised what had happened after he heard gunshots.

He admitted that he had accompanied the murder suspect to dump the body but confirmed that he had no involvement in the murder.

Zhou told Taiwanese authorities that after the murders, he fled to Cambodia. Later he feared for his safety, and was worried that he would be killed and silenced by the murder suspects so he immediately fled back to Taiwan.
