FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2024

A huge Songkran event is being hosted at Sanam Luang in Bangkok until April 15. The Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2024 combines traditional and modern activities for all age groups.

Floats will paraded on Rajdamnoen Klang Road on April 11-12.

They will include the “Phra Buddha Maha Suwanna Patimakorn” Buddha image and this year’s Songkran "goddess", Thai-Danish beauty queen Anntonia Porsild.

Traditional performances and activities from the five regions of Thailand are scheduled as part of the celebrations.

They include Khon dancers, a Muay Thai demonstration and local products.
On April 13, there will be an alms-offering ceremony with 99 monks, as well as bathing ceremonies for the monks and the elderly for prosperity.

Electronic dance music parties and concerts from Thai artists, such as Danupha “Milli” Khanatheerakul and 4EVE, will also be held.
Partygoers can also look forward to a big fountain and water tunnels.
