Dusit International, one of Asia's leading hospitality brands, yesterday signed a hotel management agreement in Bangkok with property owners Tanota Partners for an upcoming flagship project on the Pacific island of Guam.

Scheduled for a soft opening late next year, the Dusit Thani Guam, located in the island’s prime commercial and tourist precinct, is a 417-room beachside resort hotel with 30 floors. It is set to offer world-class facilities, including Guam’s largest conference centre and an array of restaurants and bars.
Expressing his confidence in the management expertise of Dusit International, Michael Ysrael of Guam-based Tanota Partners said: “We expect the Dusit Thani Guam to be a spectacular business success under Dusit International’s management. Thai hospitality is unique and we have full confidence in Dusit International’s 60 years of experience in this field.”
Dusit International chief executive officer Chanin Donavanik said: “The success of this new management bid by Dusit International has been spurred by our confidence both in the property and the potential of Guam as a growing destination. Not only will the Dusit Thani Guam with its unprecedented facilities attract a new generation of guests, we believe that within a short time it will become Guam’s premier hotel.”
To support that aim and the future growth of the hotel, Dusit International is expanding its sales offices with the opening of a regional sales office in Tokyo late this year, he said.
“We believe that while raising the level of professionalism in the local hospitality industry, the Dusit’s educational programmes will result in many direct and indirect benefits that will provide the foundation for long-term development of the hospitality sector in Guam,” said Donna Baker of Tanota Partners.
Under the partnership agreement, scholarships at Dusit Thani College (Bangkok), culinary and training classes on Guam and bilateral internship exchange programmes will be available once the hotel is fully operational, helping to educate and train a new generation of Guam professionals in international hospitality.
