KUALA LUMPUR: The March 9 Parliamentary Assembly sitting may be postponed, reports Berita Harian.

The report said that Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof (pic) would be communicating with the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to receive a confirmation on a new date for the Parliament session.
“(The session will) probably not (start on March 9).

“I will be officially communicating with the PMO tomorrow (on the new date),” he said when contacted by Berita Harian on Sunday (March 1).
The opening ceremony of the 14th Parliamentary Assembly will be launched by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

Earlier on Sunday, Pakatan Harapan had urged for the Parliament session on March 9 to continue as scheduled, saying that it will be the best way to determine who has the majority support.

"This is an excellent opportunity to determine the support of the Prime Minister and thus ending the current political turmoil of the country," the statement read.
