Indonesia's president plans to sign tariff deal with US next week, minister says
Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto is due in the United States next week, with an appearance planned for February 19, and the government expects a tariff agreement with Washington to be signed around the same time, senior minister Airlangga Hartarto said on Wednesday.
Airlangga did not disclose what the US engagement would be, but the presidential palace has previously said Prabowo was invited to the first leaders’ meeting of US President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace.”
Indonesia and the United States last year reached an initial understanding to lower US tariffs on Indonesian exports to 19% from 32%.
