Police and troops raided an alleged gambling den in Bangkok’s Lak Si district on Thursday night and rounded up 78 suspected gamblers.

Police from Thung Song Hong police station and troops from the First Infantry Battalion raided a house on Soi Ngam Wong Wan 47 in Thung Song Hong subdistrict and arrested 48 men and 30 women.

Authorities also seized some cash, dice and other gambling equipment as well as seven two-way radios and seven pistols.

The suspected gamblers were taken to the Thung Song Hong police station and are expected to be charged in the Don Mueang district court later.

Police said the operator of the den built a worker campsite in front of the den in an attempt to conceal it. The premises had three large rooms and CCTV cameras were installed outside the house.
