The 16-megapixel camera runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. It is designed as a quality digital camera that can connect directly to social networks via third-generation wireless broadband. It will be available here and around the world by November 23. It is priced at Bt16,900.
Samsung has earmarked 7-10 per cent of total net sales as the marketing budget for all products including the Galaxy for this year.
The Galaxy will be available at 50 Samsung brand shops and the stores of mobile-phone chains.
Advanced Info Service customers who buy a Samsung Galaxy Camera can get an AIS Net SIM card with 50 megabytes for free.
