Emirates will inaugurate another daily, non-stop Airbus A380 flight to Bangkok on October 27, which reinforces the significance of Bangkok to the Middle East airline's operations in the region.

“Given outstandingly high demand for this route, adding the second daily A380 service will not only allow our passengers greater flexibility but also support the country’s growing tourism industry,” Jabr Al-Azeeby, manager for Thailand and Indochina, said yesterday. Salem Obaidalla, senior vice president of commercial operations for the Far East and Australasia, said that earlier this year, Emirates launched its fifth daily flight to Bangkok and passenger demand has led to the decision to operate the second A380 on the route.
“Thailand has been part of the Emirates network for over 20 years and in December we added Phuket as our second Thai destination,” he said.
Emirates started flying to Bangkok in 1990. In March, it increased frequency on the Bangkok-Dubai route with the latest A380 service addition.
Emirates will also deepen its commitment to Hong Kong with a fourth daily service from Dubai.
“We have been steadily increasing the number of services to Hong Kong and this fourth flight gives our customers the flexibility to choose a departure time that fits with their schedule and connect through Dubai to destinations on our ever expanding global network,” he added.
Emirates, with an all wide-body fleet of 200 aircraft, flies to 132 destinations in 77 countries including 23 destinations in 12 countries in the Far East and Australasia. From Bangkok, Emirates flies to Dubai, Hong Kong, Sydney and Christchurch.
From Hong Kong, the carrier connects to Dubai and Bangkok.
