MCOT’s board early this week approved the company’s participation in the auction for national digital television service licences organised by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC).
The licences for which MCOT plans to bid are standard definition (SD) kids and family channel, SD variety channel, and high definition variety channel.

Mangpong to offer Taiwanese smart-home appliances
Mangpong 1989 Co early this week signed an agreement on service and profit sharing with NVK Inter Co (NVK), the sole distributor in Thailand of EnGenius, one of Taiwan’s leading wireless network equipment brands.
The agreement will strengthen their business relations and aim to cooperate in sales and marketing.
 In the early stage, NVK will be allowed to display and sell its smart-home appliances – surveillance cameras and wireless access point – at Future Park Rangsit and Central Rama 2, with the option to expand to other outlets of the company across the country.
This cooperation will help the company gain higher revenue by utilising space at the company’s outlets and from profit sharing.
It would also enable the company to access new customers and make it easier to meet customers’ needs with a variety of products.

MSX International expands operations in Thailand
MSX International (MSXI), a provider of services and technology solutions that help automakers and other global organisations improve retail network performance, talent acquisition and management, has opened a subsidiary in Bangkok.
MSXI’s main activity in Thailand is a Warranty Parts Evaluation |Centre, based in Rayong. The company also has started dealer support initiatives.
The new facility in Thailand will allow the company to be centrally located in the growing Asia-Pacific region, said Fred Minturn, president and CEO of MSXI. “The MSXI team strives to secure business opportunities in emerging markets, such as Thailand, to better serve our clients worldwide with global automotive knowledge and local implementation,” he added.
Through its warranty parts facility, MSXI will help its client and associated suppliers reduce warranty expenditure.
Selected parts, replaced by dealerships under warranty, will be sent to the warranty parts facility for analysis, helping to enhance parts quality.
The operation in Rayong opened in July and is currently receiving and analysing parts. The MSXI Thailand team is led by Xavier Vandame, managing director of Asia-Pacific operations.
“This new subsidiary allows us to increase our coverage in Asia Pacific. Our clients often require regional solutions and subject-matter expertise in Asia Pacific to support their growth,” said Vandame.

Prinsiri sets up solar farm subsidiary
Prinsiri’s board early this week approved the setting up of a wholly owned subsidiary, Prin Energy Co, for production and distribution of electricity from solar energy.
