VOX (THAILAND), which owns the |distribution licence for Vox USA’s pro-|tective film products for cars, buildings and electronic devices, plans to make Thailand a headquarters and demonstration centre for Asean and some potential markets elsewhere in Asia and the Middle East.
The move is in line with the company’s vision to become a leader in Asia in protective films to improve people’s health within five years, said chief executive officer Peerasak Thongnarin.
He said Vox’s marketing strategy for 2017 was to increase market share throughout Asia via the continuous |development of products for health |protection.
“We will focus on film innovations that have been designed and created for the purpose of benefiting health,” said Peerasak, giving the example of a film for cars that helps protect occupants from the danger of ultraviolet light.
Vox (Thailand) is a joint venture between Prime Group, a Thai provider |of equipment for electricity generation from solar energy and garbage, and Zemasch Corporation, a provider of in-formation-technology products, with the aim of penetrating the protective-film market.
The company has the right to market and distribute protective films and other innovative products of Florida-based Vox in Asean and other markets in Asia, especially India and the Middle East.
“Thailand is a tourism destination. The country has a high number of vehicles and buildings. In the market for [protective] films for buildings, we have a strong competitor that has been in the market for more than 30 years,” Peerasak said. He added these were reasons that Thailand should be promoted as Vox’s headquarters and demonstration centre for Asean and other potential markets in Asia and the Middle East with similar business and market environments.
Overseas distribution
He said the company had already appointed local distributors in Laos, Vietnam and Indonesia.
“In Vietnam for example, we have a strong local distributor, a state-owned company and agent for Toyota vehicles. In Indonesia, our distributor is also the agent of Toyota as well as Daihatsu, and the No 1 auto company in the country.
“We are also negotiating with potential distributors in Cambodia and Myanmar, and expect to sign contracts with them in the near future.”
Peerasak said Vox (Thailand) achieved Bt260 million in total sales last year, of which Bt200 million was from export. The company expects sales revenue to reach Bt300 million this year.
“Once we formed the company in November 2014, we set the target from Day 1 to list on the local stock market in the fourth year of operation. However, we postponed the listing plan to the fifth year of operation, which will be around 2019. In that year, our sales should reach between Bt600 million and Bt800 million, of which 80 per cent will be from export markets,” he said.
