Alexander and Kim Aris - sons of Suu Kyi and her late husband, Michael Aris - were included on a list of 2,082 Myanmar nationals and foreign correspondents previously barred from the country, President Thein Sein's official website said.
The number represents a third of the 6,165 people Myanmar, also known as Burma, had blacklisted. The announcement that they had been dropped from the list was announced Tuesday, but the list was disclosed Thursday.
Well-known foreign correspondents such as Swedish journalist and author Bertil Lintner and Denis Grey of the Associated Press were also on the debanned list.
Among well-known Myanmar nationals off the list was labour activist Maung Maung.
"We are delighted that after decades of exile, Maung Maung will be able to return to the country to lead the FTUB (Federation of TradeUnions of Burma) at this crucial stage in Burma's history,"International Trade Unions Confederation general secretary Sharan Burrow said from Brussels.//DPA
