Borwornsak argued that the new Senate would be selected through an indirect election because a committee would select qualified professionals from different groups of professions and the list of nominees would be presented to the People Assembly, local leaders and members of local councils for the final selection process.
“Members of these three organisations are elected by the people. Hence, the statement that the Senate will come from appointment is not right,” he said.
Borwonsak said Western countries using this selection method included France.
“Columnists have the freedom to put forth their opinion but news coverage and headlines must be presented in a well-rounded manner without discrimination, otherwise the public will receive only one-sided information,” he said.
