THE Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) president, Borwornsak Uwanno, said he is pushing for a Braille or audio version of the draft charter for the blind, and also wants the committee to come up with an index of the terminology used in the draft.

He added that he would speak to the secretary-general of the House of Representatives, Charae Panpruang, about funding for the two jobs.
Meanwhile, CDC adviser and spokesperson General Lertrat Ratanavanich said the committee had been told by the government and the Election Commission to come up with a summary of the draft charter for people to study ahead of the referendum. The suggestion was made at a meeting on Tuesday with Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam in his capacity as government representative.
Lertrat added that there would be two editions of the draft – one summarising the charter and the other listing interesting points from all chapters.
The two editions are set to be completed by September 7 and will be printed by 24 printing houses to meet the November 14 deadline so copies can be distributed from November 15 to 30. The referendum can be held once 80 per cent of the copies have been distributed.
The referendum is likely to be held on January 17, instead of January 10, as January 9 is National Children’s Day, he pointed out.
