As many as 61 former members of the National Reform Council have been chosen to be part of the 200-strong National Reform Steering Council (NRSC).

The 61 individuals, most holding military or police ranks, played a significant role in reform work as chairpersons and deputy chairpersons of reform panels related to several sectors.
Of the 61, 20 voted for the previous charter draft, while 41 voted against it. Also, seven of the members also worked with the previous Constitution Drafting Committee.
All NRSC members are to report at Parliament today, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said yesterday.
The NRSC members would be informed when the first meeting would be. The most senior member would chair the meeting, which would select the president and vice presidents of the council.
Wissanu said the NRSC was regarded as one of five core agencies. There would be a meeting of five core agencies soon.
Wissanu said former region 1 police region commissioner Pol Lt General Amnuay Nimmano can apply as National Anti-Corruption Commission candidate even though he was selected as NRSC member.
He said the interim charter stipulated that the provisions that ban members of the core agencies from holding political posts would not be enforced at this time.
