LAT Krabang officials are seeking Bt603 million from the fiscal 2017 budget, the most of any Bangkok district, a source said yesterday.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA)’s Budget Bureau has drafted a Bt76.5-billion fiscal 2017 budget bill, which is expected to be passed by the Bangkok Metropolitan Council next month.
Bt76 billion has been proposed for permanent spending and Bt577 million for commercial expenses.
Other districts seeking big budgets are Wang Thonglang (Bt577 million), Bang Khunthien (Bt561 million), Nong Chok (Bt542 million) and Chatuchak (Bt531 million).
City council chairman Kriangsak Lohachala said yesterday that the budget bill would be taken up for deliberation on July 21. A committee will be appointed to scrutinise the bill for 45 days before its second reading.
The city’s Public Works Department has asked for up to Bt9.1 billion and the Environment Department Bt6.6 billion.
