Those eligible and wishing to get the refund should file a request at any SSO branch office. If approved, they will receive the money via a bank account.
The SSO will also periodically check if there were employers who overpaid and notify them to file requests for a refund.
The refund is available for insured persons or employers who automatically paid the SSO contribution beyond what was actually required. For example, a worker who resigned from a job when they or their employer already paid the SSO contribution, or a worker who resigned from a previous job where they already paid the SSO contribution, and had a sum automatically deducted when they started their new job with an overlapping month, might qualify for a refund.
