Murder-dismemberment suspects return to court

All five defendants in a much-publicised murder-dismemberment case showed up at the Khon Kaen Provincial Court on Tuesday, as their case proceeded further in the judicial process.

The court ordered both the plaintiffs and defendants to submit a list of witnesses for their upcoming trial.
The defendants are Priyanuch Nonwangchai, 24, Kawita Rachada, 26, Apiwan Satayabundit, 28, Wasin Namprom, 22, and Jidarat Promkhun, 21.
All defendants except Jidarat were indicted on several charges in connection with the murder and dismemberment of Warisara Klinjui in May. Among the charges are pre-meditated murder, destroying and hiding body parts to conceal the cause of death, theft, illegal detention, carrying weapons (knives) to a public place without a sound reason, and possession of stolen items. They denied planning to kill Warisara but admitted to causing her death.
Jidarat was indicted by public prosecutors on only one charge of possessing a stolen item – Warisara’s mobile phone, which she was allegedly given to sell. Jidarat is the only one who has received bail.
