Trat woman stopped from jumping from bridge

Family members and rescuers convinced a 24-year-old woman not to jump off a bridge into the Trat River on Sunday night.

Muang Trat police sent officers and rescuers from a foundation to the bridge after being alerted to the suicide attempt.
They found the woman sitting on the bridge rail while her mother and other relatives were nearby and trying to talk her down.
She eventually agreed after it was stressed to her that her one-month old baby needed her.
Her family said she had gone out drinking with friends and they had called her to take care of her baby. They later found her at the bridge.
They said it was her second suicide threat and she had previously been treated for depression.
