Sinlaku storm battered the provinces of Loei and Chiang Mai early on Monday (August 3), damaging up to 500 houses in Loei’s Ban Soob village alone.

Loei village pummelled by Sinlaku storm The villagers, who were visited by Loei governor Chaiwat Chuenkosum, said the storm took them by surprise. In fact, an elderly member of the community said this was possibly the worst disaster in centuries.
