News industry discusses handling of sensitive political protests

Key figures in the news industry participated in an event titled “How should the press handle new political conflicts?” at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand in Bangkok yesterday (September 2).

The past two months have seen several rallies by pro-democracy activists or from pro-royalist people across the country – events which have given rise to questions among the general people as to how should the press handle or report on this sensitive situation.
The press has also been attacked by netizens on neutrality.
Among the prominent news personalities attending yesterday’s event were Nation Multimedia Group president Chai Bunnag, Thai Journalists Association president Mongkol Bangprapa and Thai Broadcast Journalists Association president Peerawat Chotithummo.
