New carrier Pacific Royale halts service

Indonesian domestic carrier Pacific Royale Airways has announced that it has temporarily halted operations, just months after starting service in June.

“We need to halt our operations because we plan to change our business plan,” Pacific Royale sales manager Dede Hartono said on Thursday.
Dede said the airline had grounded its three Fokker 50s at its hubs in Surabaya, East Java and Batam, Riau Islands, early this month.
“It is not because of a financial crisis in our company. We have to stop operations, because we need a new business plan that will bring more benefits to the company and customers,” he said.
Pacific Royale is 51 per cent owned by local businessman Gunarni Gunawan and 49 per cent owned by Indian investor Tarun Trika.
