Yangon city plan out soon

A report on the first phase of the developmental plan for Yangon will be completed next month, according to the planning committee. A report on the second phase is due in December.

The first phase will have a land-use plan to identify areas for skyscrapers and commercial districts as well as high-priority projects, including clean water supplies. The Yangon Master Plan is being drafted by YCDC, the Japan International Cooperation Agency and Yangon government.
Some 22 per cent of Yangon has been developed and 51 per cent allocated for farms, while 9 per cent is undeveloped. Green areas comprise only 6 per cent.
