The remaining political prisoners in 43 jails across the country will be listed within a week, well-known comedian Maung Thura or "Zarganar" said. He is also a member of Examination Committee for Remaining Political Prisoners. It held its third meeting on

“Currently we have a list of more than 200 political prisoners remaining in the prisons, but there may be others. So please give us more time to compile the list more accurately. We will make an exact list within a week and contact their families and prisons for additional information. There are 43 prisons [in Myanmar] and we will contact them all,” he said.
Committee members will visit the prisons to compile a list that will be submitted to the president. Thura said 10 representatives from public groups who are members of thepanel, will take up the task without any interference from the government.
Bo Kyi, from the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), said there were 183 political detainees still in prison and more than 100 on trial.
