Group helps needy kids in Yangon

Assistance is sought for orphans and needy children in Yangon region to enable them to continue their education, according to a group dedicated to improving the children's quality of life.

The Upgrading Social Life Group said it will help these children from orphanages and other poor and needy children who want to pursue their education from Yangon region and the city’s suburbs, supporting their education by providing uniforms and learning aids.
“To be able to help these children we need funds and we are discussing this matter with well-wishers. We are planning to hold a fund-raising event. We are going to assist those children not in the form of financial support but in the form of necessary items like stationery and learning aids. Moreover, we have arranged to help these children to be able to attend private schools and international schools for further education. The main reason is we want to uplift their morale and boost their mental strength as well as their education,” said the group’s chairman Arkar Soe Naung.
At present there are a total of 1,300 children on the list to continue their education.
The aims of the group are for the children to have self-confidence, to live according to their hopes, to lose their inferiority complexes, to become brave and strong people, and to have respect for themselves.
