During the 30-minute meeting, Suu Kyi told the Shan Army leader to remain in constant in touch with the NLD and to keep her informed about the situation in the RCSS/SSA-controlled area. She also informed Yawd Serk of her wish to submit the issues and requirements of this area to parliament, according to Colonel Sai Hla, spokesperson of the RCSS/SSA.
“On the drugs issue, our line and that of the NLD central committee are almost the same, so she spoke of cooperating with us. We also discussed the need to establish a federal state to have peace in our country.
“She said she would do her best to establish a federal [system]. At the same time, she said she will cooperate with all the ethnic races,” said Sai Hla.
The Nobel Laureate also talked about the need for equality and unity in establishing peace, he added.
