Flood fears close Philippine schools

Fears of flooding led schools and local government offices in Manila to suspend classes yesterday as a heavy rainstorm hit parts of the region.

All classes in elementary and secondary levels in public schools in Manila have been suspended, Ric De Guzman, chief of staff in the office of the mayor, said. The tail winds of Tropical Storm “Emong” are expected to fuel moderate and heavy rains throughout the country.
