The 35-year-old Win Zaw Oo is 7 feet 10 inches tall and lives in Htonepaukchine Village in Natmauk Township, Magway Region. Doctors think his extraordinary height is due to Acromegaly, which occurs when the body produces too many growth hormones.
“If he totally trusts in our good will, he will accept [the treatment]. It depends on him,” Dr Khin Maung Win told reporters on Monday.
Facing walking difficulties, Win Zaw Oo has been receiving treatment at Novel Specialist Clinic in Yangon since June 29.
“I am not rich, so I’ve never thought of getting such treatment. I will accept what the doctors have to offer,” said Win Zaw Oo.
