Two floating hotels to rise before SEA Games

Two floating hotels are currently under construction in Mandalay, the second-largest city in Myanmar, according to company sources.

A two-star three-storey floating hotel, located near Mayangyan Port in the city will be joined by another, which will replicate the giant dragon-shaped floating Karaweik Hall on the eastern shore of Kandawgyi Lake, Yangon.
They are expected to be completed before the 27th SEA Games to be hosted by the country in December.
“The Karaweik-shaped hotel will be completed in time for the Games and will have an engine to make it mobile. It will embark on daily sightseeing cruises to Mingun and Shwekyatyet. Sightseeing trips to see Ayeyarwaddy dolphins will also be arranged,” said the hotel’s owner Tun Tun.
The construction of the Karaweik-shaped hotel has been under way since March this year and is 70-per-cent completed. The two-star hotel project was launched in December last year and will include 40 double rooms, four family rooms and two special guest rooms.
