Low-cost housing to be built nationwide, ministry says

Low cost housing will be built in Yangon and Mandalay, as well as states that need it, the Ministry of Construction says. Yangon is in need of housing and low-cost homes are being built to match the rising population.

The government is upgrading Pyithawthar housing project, as well as implementing a low cost homes project in Mandalay.
Some 32 four-storey buildings are being built in Shwelinpan low cost housing project in Hlaingtharyar, while 49 18-storey towers are planned by Ayeyawon in Dagon Seikkan Township and Yadanar in Yangon.
