Two journalists injured in explosion

Two journalists were injured in a bomb blast that hit an official convoy carrying the chief minister of Mandalay Region on Sunday afternoon.

A vehicle leading the convoy of eight vehicles carrying Chief Minister Ye Myint and regional Minister Aung Maung was hit by the blast near Hopin village.
“It’s supposed to be a time bomb,” said Zaw Min Oo, the lieutenant police colonel from the Mandalay Police Department. “We learnt that the blast injured two journalists from the Mandalay Daily and the Ministry of Information. But they’re not seriously injured.”
