Anti-trafficking police to meet in Phuket

Officials from the anti-human trafficking police squad will hold talks with their Thai counterparts on human trafficking along the Myanmar-Thai border on August 5 and 6 on Phuket Island, Thailand, according the anti-human trafficking police squad.

This is the second meeting on promoting cooperation between anti-human trafficking officers on both sides of the border.
The two-day meeting will focus on bringing effective charges against human traffickers and promoting the skills of those involved combatting human trafficking.
In 2009, Myanmar and Thailand signed a memorandum of understanding in which both sides agreed to more effectively crack down onthe crime.
