Democracy shorts to air on state-run TV

Five short films on democracy will be aired on state-owned Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) channel before the end of the year to raise awareness about democracy, according to film director Kyi Soe Tun.

"We aim to raise awareness among the public on democratic elements and what people should keep in mind while pursuing a true democratic system," said director Kyi Soe Tun.
According to the director, the films are based primarily on "Democracy Attitudes" - a book of Tint Swe, a former ambassador of Myanmar.
In the book, Tint Swe highlighted various topics including rules and responsibilities, the value of a vote, and freedom of expression and freedom of speech.
"We finished the filming and the editing is underway. We plan to air them on MRTV before this year's end," the director added.
Kyi Soe Tun is both the director and script writer. Zeya, Win Tun Tun, Aung Aung, Myo Thandar Tun, Khin Than Nwe, and other students from Laurel Art Academy have participated in the short films.
Each episode of the short films will last 30 minutes.
