Car bombing attempt at Manila airport foiled

A Toyota Revo suspected to be loaded with explosives was intercepted by authorities at the parking area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminal 3 in Pasay City, Philippines, early yesterday.
Radio reports said four still unnamed individuals were arrested by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) personnel at the Parking B area of terminal 3.
This prompted airport authorities to place the airport under full alert.
Chief Superintendent Christopher Laxa of the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group said in a text message to the Philippine Daily Inquirer that the police had yet to produce an official report as this was an NBI-led operation.
“They [NBI] just informed the security guard at the area after conducting their operation,” Laxa said.
