NLD to construct new headquarters

The opposition National League for Democracy plans to spend K 300 million (US$292,683) to construct its new headquarters, its treasurer U Saw Hlaing, member of the NLD's construction committee, said.

The old building of the NLD’s headquarters is being demolished since November 11 and the demolition work will be completed within a month.
“The plan is to finish the demolition work within a month. After that we will apply for a construction permit and as soon as we get the permit, we will start the construction. We expect it will take about a year. The fund we have is over K 872 million. We estimated that it would cost about K 300 million,” U Saw Hlaing said.
He added that the newly-built facility will be six stories high.
