Brunei supports Thailand in solving deep southern provinces

Brunei has expressed supports on the Thai attempts to solve the violence and crisis in the deep southern region.

Sultan Hassnal Bolkiah conveyed the message during a Friday meeting with Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on the sideline of South Korea-Asean Summit in Busan city of South Korea.
Sultan Bolkiah also offered to extend the Brunei government’s scholarship programs to children from the southern-border provinces of Thailand.
Prayut thanked Sultan of Brunei for the offer and cooperation under the Organisation of the Islamic Conference.
Prayut stressed that Thailand is trying to solve the issues in the southern-border provinces in a peaceful way.
Brunei is interested to extend cooperations in agriculture and food production development with Thailand. This would help Brunei diversify its economic foundations to other sectors other than petroleum production.
Prayut invited Brunei to join in the infrastructure investments in Thailand.
