Tycoon gets green light for helicopter service

The Air Myanmar Aviation Service, owned by tycoon Tay Za, has been given a permit to operate helicopter service for the first time in Myanmar, according to the Aviation Department.

“The department handed the Air Operator Certificate to the company on January 27. It is only allowed to run the helicopter rental service and its helicopters must land at airports and designated heliports. And must fly within limited areas,” an official from the department said.
A US-based aviation company has also applied for licence to provide helicopter service and is still waiting for permission.
Air Myanmar Aviation will begin the service using two AS 350 B3 typed helicopters.
