Tin Nilar Aung, who went to Singapore in 2014 to work as a maid, was found dead in November.
“When the body was sent here, there was no report from a doctor. And she had injuries on her body. The body was not near the apartment where she works. And the letter brought to the family for their signature by the authorities said she killed herself. That’s why they are doubtful and asked for help,” Mar Mar Oo said.
She said the medical report would be sent to the Embassy of Myanmar in Singapore.
Representatives from the 88 Generation are in talks with the Ministry of Labour and Overseas Employment Agencies Federation and they made contact with groups in Singapore.
Another Myanmar maid in Singapore recently ran away by climbing down a waste pipe, claiming her employer was torturing her but she fell, leaving her paralysed from the waist down.
