The Myanmar Air Force has commissioned K-8W training planes and ATR-42 and BEECH-1900 D transport aircrafts into service at the Meiktila Ground Training Base on Wednesday.

The ceremony for the new aircraft was attended by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, reports said.
The K-8W training jets were assembled in Myanmar in cooperation with the China National Aero-Technology Import and Export Corporation, and the Myanmar Air Force now has a total of 18 K-8W aircrafts. The BEECH-1900 D and ATR-42 airplanes will be used for transport and rescue operations.
Installation of modern military technology plays a crucial role in Myanmar’s ongoing efforts to build up the capacity of its defence services. The new planes will strengthen the power of the air force, said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in his speech.
